The Performing Arts department aims to develop imagination and equip students with the tools to express themselves creatively through Drama Dance & Music. At Rose Bridge Academy we aim to make Performing Arts a unique form of communication that can change the way pupils feel, think and act.

In order for students to enrich their work they must have positive interaction with their peers, alongside an involvement with a broader curriculum exploring cultural, aesthetic, and historical forms.
The study of Performing Arts also aims to help the students’ progress when developing their key skills in preparation for working life. The Performing Arts department aim to encourage this development through focus on four of the key skills inherent within a syllabus:
BTEC Performing Arts Edxecel
Students will study a wide variety of units that explore all areas of Performing Arts.
Assessment: Students will be assessed throughout the year against BTEC Criteria by an internal examiner and then externally assessed by a Edexcel examiner.
Evidence will be collected throughout the course by videos, rehearsals, written logbooks, written assignments plus teacher observation records and witness statements.
Results: BTEC Performing Arts Results have been consistently high and we have a large percentage of students gaining the top grades: Distinction and Distinction Star.
These results are a fantastic starting point for entry into any college within the North West.
Showcase: BTEC Performing Arts students will also get the opportunity to showcase their work through the course performing to a wide variety of audiences including Concerts and Productions.
There are many opportunities to get involved in the Performing Arts department. We have specialist staff delivering Dance, Music and Drama sessions to help you enjoy the Arts!
Year 7 - 9 students are welcome to audition and take part in the annual Full School Production. This exciting opportunity gives you the chance to perform to sell out audiences and work alongside the BTEC Performing Arts students. We require dedication and commitment from all of our cast members and during show week the excitement is felt all across Rose Bridge Academy.
